'Jaiva Gramam' is an exemplary organic farming and rural development project implemented by the
Key Features:
Fallow Land to Cultivation: Fallow lands that remained uncultivated for years were identified and made ready for harvesting through organic farming.
Samrudhi Vallamnira Project: In collaboration with the Haritha Kerala Mission, Kudumbashree, and community groups, vegetable production and distribution were brought to thousands of families.
Saplings and Bio-pesticides: Quality vegetable saplings and organic pesticides required for farmers and the public were made available through the Jaiva Gramam project.
Training Centers: Special training centers and societies were established to promote organic farming.
Interventions During COVID-19: During the lockdown period, farming was expanded to over ten acres, and lakhs of vegetable saplings were distributed to the public.
Following the success of this project, the Nedumangad Block Panchayat won several awards, including best Panchayat honors from the Central Government.
